A couple of slight problems...

First off, let me say that this is a good game. Heck, it's even a good game. That said, i have a couple of bones to pick. #1: MochiGames. I know that the author can't control the sponsor, but MG always gives better things to those with an account. It's a small thing, but it really ticks me off. #2: Combo lapse time. Once you start a combo, you have to continue it in less than a second, otherwise the counter will restart. If the lapse was a tiny bit longer, or if you could continue a combo while the counter was still flashing, that might be better. Last thing: what's with the bosses not flinching when you hit them? I know it makes it harder, which is good, but with the super robot it just gets ridiculous. Other than these few things, I really like this game. Great control scheme, decent storyline, waves of sh*theads needing their skulls caved in... In general, this game owns your face.

Drunken Stick Drunken Stick

One of the best I've seen yet

This short was so much better than I expected it to be. I was just looking around for a good stick animation to critique when I found this beauty. At first the title gave the wrong impression, because of all the high school kids submitting utter crap these days having to do with beer. Anyway, after the first few seconds, I was reevaluating my initial judgment. The first fight was handled nicely, fairly realistic in terms of what a human can do. Then, what the blue guys did next was also typical of their kind: teabagging a beaten adversary. Again, points for realism. Next came the Ripping of the Balls, which was just hilarious. The second fight was pretty accurate to the real drunken style, I don't know if that was intentional or not. Whatever the case, it was handled fantastically. I could tell from the start that the victim had so much less trouble than at first, which for some reason cracked me up. Then with the short dialogue at the end, that also kept my busted gut from repairing. My favorite part, however, was the music. It fit the animation almost perfectly, and lightened the mood of the animation. As for the actual animation, it was smooth and fluid, with no noticeable skips or lag. The only reason that I have not given it a 10/10 stars is that I am saving that perfect score for an animation that exceeds every other I've watched. Great job on this flash.

Not that many complaints

This game rates fairly high in the 'sequel' category. The new battle system is better than it predecessor, the storyline seems to be more interesting (I haven't gotten very far yet, but still), and the general gameplay is more fluid and convenient than before. I really only have two problems with this game. First, I found a bug in Somnus that messes up the controls and sends your character out of the programmed area. It is easy to reverse, once you understand what happened, but it gave me a small shock at first. Secondly, it seems contrary to the story to make Anya, Guy, and Please Name Me's stats lesser than Shadowboxer, Darkling, and Festus's. The main issue with this is the main character's defense being so low. However, apart from these two small problems, so far this game shows a lot of promise.

Have a little respect, will you?

All right, so it was meant to be a joke. Fine. I get that. However, you obviously have no concept of professionalism. If you truly feel the need to make a thoroughly idiotic loop, make it under your own name, not using the title of one of the greatest stick series that has been submitted. Also, aside from the immaturity of this flash, the narration at the beginning sucked. If you're gonna do a spoof, at least do it well. In my humble opinion, this piece of crap never should have made it onto the internet, much less Newgrounds.

excellent music

this portrayal of the LOZ world is unique. not to mention enjoyable. the best part of this episode, I think, was the music during the fight with Dark Link (which was totally awesome, by the way). Now, I have to ask: What is the music from?

Hear Hear, enzokj01, and excellent work, Whookos!

I completely agree with enzokj01. StarOceanFan's review went beyond constructive criticism and helpful advice. But all of that is covered below, so.... moving on.

The Zelda: Unknown Origins series is an interesting portrayal of the oft-repeated tale of Link. In many of the storylines of other series/games, Link is usually described as invincible. As shown in Episode 8, this is not the case here. Many of the Zelda stereotypes are also thrown out the window, such as Link being followed by Navi and Diggs' part in this series. Don't get me wrong; this is not a bad thing. The variations from the usual story are a relief, really. Also, the memories that Link have are handled quite well. This is the first time, i believe, that the incarnation of Link has had memories of his past forms. For me, apart from Link's interaction with Diggs, this is what makes the Flash submissions interesting.
The excellence in this series does not only stem from its plot. The voice acting is quite good, and the variations from the captions are minor, if they're there at all. The animation is handled nicely, In fact, it is some of the better animation on Newgrounds.

It is quite a shame, Scoot, that you have stopped developing this series. However, it is your choice, and no one else should be able to do as much as influence it, much less make it for you. Thus, I and all of your other viewers are left hanging in suspense until you feel fit to continue the Zelda Unknown Origins series. All that I ask of you is that you not take too long in coming back.

addicting

this game is an awesome mix of Parkour and Freerunning. although, the furthest i got into it was just by randomly pressing the buttons. it gets too fast after a while, but i still love it. if you listen, right before the bombs there is a small crack in the background, thought that might help. an awesome game!

not too good

no matter what you do, there is a part on one of the levels where the tires get stuck. if that glitch could be fixed, then I might enjoy this game better.

needs some work, but still good

Unless I'm mistaken, the series to come is about a reaper. So, why is there very little of the main character in the pilot? Most of the clip was assigned to the chase scene, not establishing the lead role. On the other hand, the pilot does make me interested in the series. In short: it needs a little more content/information, but is otherwise excellent.
